Your Guide To The Best of The Midwest

States of the Midwest

Welcome 2

Illinois

There’s far more to Illinois than the wonders of the Windy City of Chicago. And while undoubtedly it’s a fantastic destination for culinary enthusiasts, museums, and the arts, Chicago can also serve as a jumping-off point for further explorations and adventures into the lesser-known areas of this great state.

Chicago is, after all, the famous starting point of Route 66, which gives travelers an easy excuse to venture west, where you’ll find incredibly charming small towns, historic sites, and breathtaking scenery.

Welcome 3

Iowa

Perhaps one of the most underrated destinations in the Midwest, Iowa is home to fascinating historical sites, cultural events, and delicious cuisine. It’s also an excellent destination for outdoor enthusiasts, with ample hiking, biking, and fishing opportunities.

Iowa is the only state in the nation bordered by two navigable rivers; the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. And the Great Lakes Region in Iowa is home to the state’s largest natural lakes. On a trip here, you’ll relish slowing down and appreciating life’s simple pleasures.

Welcome 4

Minnesota

Minnesota offers visitors hidden gems at every turn, particularly in its smaller cities. Most people have heard of, and maybe even experienced, the many delights of Minneapolis/St. Paul, but that’s just the start of this fun, friendly, and beautiful state in the Midwest!

As a state nicknamed the “Land of Ten Thousand Lakes,” it’s no surprise that nature enthusiasts flock to the forests and waterways for hiking, biking, fishing, paddling, and more. From the shores of Lake Superior to the one and only Mall of America, you’ll find an array of things to do in Minnesota.

Chimney Rock - One of the best things to do in Nebraska

Nebraska

Nebraska, often overlooked, boasts an understated charm that appeals to diverse interests. Nature enthusiasts revel in the Sandhills’ rolling dunes and the breathtaking beauty of Chimney Rock. History buffs find intrigue in pioneer tales at the Homestead National Monument and the iconic Oregon Trail.

The vibrant capital city, Lincoln, offers cultural gems like the Sheldon Museum of Art and the lively Haymarket District. As the Cornhusker State, Nebraska embraces its agricultural roots, showcasing bucolic landscapes and farm-to-table culinary experiences. Beyond the stereotypes, Nebraska’s authentic hospitality and varied attractions make it a hidden gem worth discovering.

Welcome 5

Wisconsin

Though it’s true that Wisconsin is one of the largest cheese producers in the US, that’s just a small piece of what you’ll find here. Four seasons of outdoor adventure, a fantastic mix of small-town charm and urban activities, stunning natural scenery, and a rich, abundant history are just the very start!

While Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Madison bring a lively cityscape, if you explore further west, you’re bound to discover the natural beauty and welcoming hospitality of this area in no time. And eat some delicious meals while you’re at it!
